Job summary

Placements24 invites a dedicated Civil Engineer to support municipal services in Soweto. The role focuses on planning, design, and implementation of essential public infrastructure including water, sanitation, and roads to improve residents' quality of life.

You will work with municipal officials and community stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions, manage projects, and ensure compliance with environmental and municipal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in municipal infrastructure projects.
• Registered or eligible for Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant civil design software.
• Understanding of municipal planning processes and public works requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of municipal water, sanitation, and stormwater systems.
• Assess existing infrastructure and identify upgrade needs.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Manage small to medium-sized construction projects with quality and compliance.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and municipal departments.
• Ensure projects adhere to environmental regulations and municipal standards.
