Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, focusing on planning, design, and management of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

The candidate will lead hydraulic modeling, feasibility studies, and documentation, coordinating with municipal clients and regulators while promoting sustainable water management in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• 7+ years of experience in design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, SWMM).
• Knowledge of South African standards and municipal engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of water distribution networks, wastewater collection systems, and stormwater management facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and simulations for water and sewer systems.
• Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Assist in planning and implementation of water resource management strategies, including flood risk assessment and control.
• Liaise with municipal clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local standards, environmental regulations, and best practices.
• Oversee site supervision and provide technical assistance during construction of water infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to the development of asset management plans for water and sanitation infrastructure.
