Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to join our client’s Cape Town team. The role focuses on sustainable water management, potable water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater systems across key projects.

You will lead hydraulic modeling, prepare drawings and specs, conduct site inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance, collaborating with environmental scientists to deliver integrated water solutions for the community.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering design.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS) and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of South African water and sanitation legislation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water supply, distribution, and sanitation systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and wastewater networks.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings for water projects.
• Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
