Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, focusing on planning, design, and management of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

The candidate will lead hydraulic modeling, feasibility studies, and documentation, coordinating with municipal clients and regulators while promoting sustainable water management in the Western Cape.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• 7+ years of experience in design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, SWMM).
• Knowledge of South African standards and municipal engineering practices.

About the Role

Our client, a respected engineering consultancy focused on municipal and water infrastructure, is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This role is vital for the planning, design, and management of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The successful candidate will contribute to projects aimed at improving water security and sanitation services for communities in the region. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM).
• Strong understanding of water resource management principles and challenges in South Africa.
• Familiarity with relevant SANS standards and municipal engineering practices.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
• Experience working on projects within the Western Cape is advantageous.
