Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Water Resources Civil Engineer for our client in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design and manage water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems, and perform hydraulic analyses to support resilient communities.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, Pr. Eng eligibility, and a minimum of seven years in water resources with strong modeling and project management skills. Remote relocation to Tembisa is expected for onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering advantageous.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng or eligible is required.
• Minimum 7 years of water resources engineering experience including design and project management.
• Experience in hydraulic modeling, water quality analysis, and stormwater design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water supply, distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment systems.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for flood control and water resource management.
• Prepare detailed designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water infrastructure projects.
• Perform environmental impact assessments for water infrastructure development.
• Oversee construction activities for water and wastewater projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies for water conservation and sustainable resource use.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and community stakeholders; conduct site visits for data gathering.
• Utilize EPANET/SWMM and GIS tools for modeling, analysis, and design.
• Contribute to proposals and business development efforts.
