Placements24 is seeking a Civil Engineer with Water Resources expertise to design and manage water infrastructure projects in Durban. The role focuses on hydrological modeling, water balance analyses, and sustainable resource strategies, with collaboration across offices and remote work components.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of civil engineering experience in water resources, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with EIA processes.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) preferred.
• 5-7 years of civil engineering experience in water resources.
• Hydrological and hydraulic modeling software proficiency (HEC-RAS, EPANET, WaterGEMS).
• Knowledge of water quality standards, treatment processes, and wastewater management.
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessment procedures and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing onsite collaboration with remote tasks.
• Commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Responsabilidades

• Design and manage water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, reservoirs, treatment plants, and pumping stations.
• Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and water balance analyses.
• Develop strategies for sustainable water resource management, including conservation and augmentation.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with water-related hazards such as floods and droughts.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Collaborate with government agencies, stakeholders, and community groups on water management initiatives.
• Oversee construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects.
• Utilize specialized software for hydrological and hydraulic modeling.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff, both in office and remotely.
