Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom, South Africa, is seeking an energetic Volunteer Coordinator to grow and manage our community volunteer program. You will recruit, train, and retain volunteers while ensuring a positive, impactful experience across programs and events.

This hybrid role combines community engagement with administrative duties, including scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing training, to support a dedicated team delivering our mission-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in volunteer management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and manage diverse groups of individuals.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software and volunteer management databases.
• Understanding of non-profit volunteer work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for recruitment and retention of volunteers.
• Screen, interview, and onboard new volunteers, ensuring proper placement according to skills and interests.
• Organize and conduct volunteer orientation and ongoing training sessions.
• Create and manage volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all programs and events.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions through various initiatives.
