Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to support our environmental conservation client in Richards Bay. You will recruit, train, and manage volunteers, ensuring a positive, engaging experience and smooth deployment across field and administrative tasks.

This hybrid role blends on-site coordination with remote administration, requiring excellent communication, organization, and a passion for conservation. You will build a supportive volunteer community and track contributions.

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer coordination, human resources, or event management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage diverse groups.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
• Proficiency in standard office software and volunteer management platforms.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers for conservation projects.
• Organize and conduct volunteer orientation and training sessions.
• Schedule and manage volunteers for various field activities, including environmental monitoring and clean-up drives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and track volunteer hours and contributions.
• Assist with the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events.
