Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg, South Africa, seeks a seasoned VoIP/UC Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise voice and collaboration platforms for a diverse client base.

You will deploy Cisco UCM, Microsoft Teams Phone System, and Avaya Aura, configure PBX systems and endpoints, manage SIP/RTP, monitor performance, and work with network and systems teams to ensure secure, reliable communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in VoIP and Unified Communications engineering.
• Hands-on experience with leading UC platforms such as Cisco UCM, Microsoft Teams Phone System, or Avaya Aura.
• Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, H.323 protocols, and network requirements for real-time communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VoIP and Unified Communications systems (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams).
• Configure and troubleshoot PBX systems, call managers, gateways, and endpoints.
• Manage and monitor UC platforms, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
