Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled VoIP Engineer to join our client's communications team in Vereeniging. You will deploy, configure, and maintain VoIP systems to ensure reliable voice services for the organization and its clients.

You will work with PBX platforms, SBCs, and gateways, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security measures. The role offers growth opportunities and exposure to leading VoIP technologies in the telecoms sector.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a VoIP Engineer or in a similar telecommunications role.
Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols, including SIP, H.323, and RTP.
Experience with major VoIP platforms and SBC vendors.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and QoS.
Ability to troubleshoot complex voice communication issues.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Voice, Avaya) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and manage VoIP systems, including PBX, SBCs, and voice gateways.
Monitor VoIP network performance, ensuring high availability and QoS.
Troubleshoot VoIP-related issues, such as call quality problems, registration failures, and feature malfunctions.
Implement and maintain security measures for VoIP infrastructure.
Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with network and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of VoIP services.
