Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Systems Administrator to manage and secure the company’s voice and data networks in Klerksdorp. You will oversee PBX systems, VoIP gateways, and UC platforms, ensuring high availability and security.

The role requires expertise in SIP, VoIP, and PBX administration, with strong TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP knowledge. You will coordinate upgrades and provide end-user support in a busy telecom environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on telecommunications.
• In-depth knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP protocol, and PBX administration.
• Experience with major telecommunications platforms (Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain PBX systems, VoIP gateways, and unified communications platforms.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage user accounts, extensions, and voicemail settings, providing timely support to end-users.
• Implement and maintain security protocols for all telecom systems to protect against unauthorized access.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations in coordination with IT management.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
