Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Venue Operations Supervisor for a premier sports and entertainment complex in Centurion, Gauteng. The role leads a team of operational staff, manages resources, and ensures facilities, services, and events run to the highest standards with safety and guest satisfaction at the forefront.

You will oversee daily event setups, coordinate with security and concessions, train staff, handle emergencies, and maintain venue readiness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in venue operations or event management, with supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and security protocols in venues.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with event scheduling software is a plus.
• Willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of staff (ushers, custodians, setup crews).
• Oversee readiness and maintenance of venue areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Manage event setups, breakdowns and transitions efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to venue policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Respond to operational issues and emergencies promptly.
• Assist in inventory management of supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with security and concessions for seamless events.
• Conduct regular venue inspections and rectify hazards.
• Train and mentor new operational staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons.
