Job summary

Arcs in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Pre-Owned Sales Manager to take charge of the Used Vehicle Department, driving sales, profitability and stock management. You will lead a team, optimize pricing, manage trade-ins, coordinate with F&I, and ensure showroom readiness while maintaining compliance and delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires a proven track record, CMS experience, and a Code 8 driver's license, with a focus on growth and profitability in a competitive market.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Pre-Owned/Used Vehicle Sales Manager or similar senior automotive sales role.
• GWM/Haval experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of pre-owned vehicle sales, valuations, pricing, stock management and profitability.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and gross profit targets.
• Experience managing and developing a sales team.
• CMS experience is essential.
• Code 8 driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive pre-owned vehicle sales, gross profit and departmental profitability.
• Set and achieve monthly sales and profitability targets.
• Manage pre-owned vehicle stock, including stock ageing, pricing, vehicle mix and stock turn.
• Source quality pre-owned vehicles through trade-ins, auctions and vehicle purchases.
• Oversee accurate vehicle valuations and ensure market-related pricing.
• Manage vehicle reconditioning and ensure vehicles are showroom-ready.
• Lead, motivate, coach and develop the pre-owned sales team.
• Set individual and departmental targets and monitor performance.
• Assist with customer negotiations, complaints and after-sales requirements.
• Work closely with F&I to maximise finance penetration and value-added products.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Monitor and report on departmental KPIs, sales trends, stock movement and conversion rates.
• Work with marketing to ensure vehicles are accurately and effectively advertised.
• Collaborate with New Vehicle Sales, Service, Parts, F&I, Finance and Administration.

• Proven experience as a Pre-Owned / Used Vehicle Sales Manager or similar senior automotive sales role.

• Previous experience managing and developing a sales team.

• CMS experience is essential.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
