Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Community Agriculture Project Coordinator to lead urban farming initiatives in Soweto. You will empower residents through sustainable agriculture, food security programs, and skills development, collaborating with local organizations and government bodies.

The role focuses on designing, implementing, and monitoring projects, organizing workshops, managing budgets, and reporting on impact to strengthen livelihoods in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Community Development, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Experience in project coordination, preferably within community-based agricultural or development programs.
• Strong understanding of urban agriculture, food security, and sustainable farming practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups.
• Experience in basic budget management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community agriculture projects.
• Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions on urban farming techniques, crop management, and food preservation.
• Engage with community members to identify needs, build participation, and ensure project sustainability.
• Develop partnerships with local NGOs, government agencies, and private sector entities.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
• Collect data and prepare reports on project progress, impact, and challenges.
