Job summary

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Quality Control Assistant to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Safety Manager.

The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Minimum qualifications include Grade 12, a relevant NQF4 certificate, ISO 9001 introduction, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to read mining drawings.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• NQF4 certificate in mechanical/mining/construction.
• Introduction to ISO 9001 standard.
• Higher Certificate in Total Quality Management or similar preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Able to read and understand drawings.
• Underground work fitness and safety aware.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Quality control/assurance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections underground or surface against set standards.
• Record and report findings accurately.
• Plan and coordinate quality, safety, and risk activities.
• Maintain documentation and management system requirements.
• Read and verify drawings against design specs.
• Identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure smooth workflows.
• Self-manage according to company values.
