Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor for our client in Rustenburg, North West. You will perform underground surveys, establish control networks, and produce survey plans and contours to support safety and production planning.

The role requires a National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying, a Competency certificate, at least 4 years underground experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Deswik, and 3DReshaper. Willing to work underground.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mine Surveying or related field.
• Certificate of Competency or eligibility required.
• 4+ years of underground mine surveying experience.
• Proficiency in survey software and data processing.

Responsibilities

• Survey underground excavations in tunnels, stopes and shafts.
• Establish and maintain underground survey control networks.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections and contour maps using surveying software.
• Monitor changes in mine workings due to production and development.
• Perform volume calculations for ore and waste materials.
• Ensure compliance with underground surveying standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with mine planners, engineers and geologists to provide spatial data.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments (total stations, theodolites, GPS).
• Assist in developing and implementing new surveying technologies and methods.
• Maintain accurate survey records and databases.
