Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor for underground operations in Mahikeng, North West. This hybrid role combines on-site surveying with office data processing to support development, production, and safety in the mine.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant diploma or degree, 5+ years of underground surveying experience, and proficiency with Surpac, Vulcan, Leica, Trimble and CAD packages, including laser scanning.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma or degree in Mine Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of underground mine surveying experience.
• Proficient with Surpac, Vulcan, Leica, Trimble and CAD packages.
• Experience with underground survey instruments and laser scanning.
• Strong geodetic calculations, spatial data management and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and teamwork in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys of underground development, stopes and production areas.
• Establish and maintain survey control for underground workings.
• Prepare mine plans, sections and survey reports using CAD.
• Set out drilling targets and operational areas underground.
• Monitor changes in mine workings and report ore and waste volumes.
• Collaborate with geology and mining engineering teams for survey data.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all survey operations.
• Operate and maintain total stations, lasers, and GPS equipment.
• Reconcile survey data with geological models and production records.
• Assist in controlling mine layouts and conform to design parameters.
