Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to oversee underground surveying operations near Bloemfontein. You will establish control networks, monitor deformations, and produce survey plans while ensuring accurate data for engineers and management.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics, 6+ years in underground settings, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Surpac, and Deswik. A valid driver’s license and strong data management skills are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics with a minimum of 6 years of underground surveying experience.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments (total stations, digital levels, GPS/GNSS) and data processing software.
• Registered Professional Mine Surveyor (Pr. MS) or eligibility for registration is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Establish and maintain control networks underground.
• Perform volumetric calculations for excavations and stockpiles.
• Conduct deformation monitoring for shafts and tunnels.
• Prepare mine plans, sections, and survey reports using CAD and surveying software.
• Ensure compliance with mining surveying regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to provide survey data.
• Train and supervise junior surveyors and survey assistants.
