Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor for operations near Welkom. You will perform precise surface and underground surveys, create digital mine models, and provide accurate data for planning and execution to drive safety and efficiency. The position emphasizes accuracy, use of Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanning, with collaboration across geologists and engineers to integrate survey data into planning.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably underground.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Deswik.
• Experience operating and maintaining advanced surveying instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
• Knowledge of SA mining survey regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points and boundaries.
• Use Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanning for data acquisition.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and digital terrain models.
• Calculate volumes of ore, waste, and excavations.
• Monitor mine deformation and report significant changes or risks.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to integrate survey data into planning.
