Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to support operations near Vereeniging in Gauteng. You will establish survey control for surface and underground works, collect spatial data, and ensure precise positioning of excavations, infrastructure, and equipment.

The role requires a National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics, with 4+ years of field experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, Surpac and TBC.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in surface and underground surveying.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Surpac, TBC and GNSS devices.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain survey control networks for surface and underground mine workings.
• Conduct volumetric surveys for stockpile management, excavation volumes, and rehabilitation progress.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners.
• Process and reduce survey data using specialized software to generate accurate maps, plans, and models.
• Collaborate closely with mine planners, geologists, and engineering teams to provide essential spatial information.
• Ensure all survey activities comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company safety protocols.
