The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor's in Mine Surveying/Geomatics with 5+ years in underground settings, proficient in AutoCAD and Vulcan, and experienced with GPS and laser scanning; strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with significant underground experience
• Proficiency with mine surveying software (AutoCAD, Vulcan Survey)
• Experience with GPS and laser scanning technologies
• Strong understanding of mine planning and geological principles
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surveys within underground mining environments, including setting out drives, stopes, and ventilation airways
• Measure and record volumes of ore extracted and development progress
• Maintain and update digital mine plans and databases using specialized surveying software
• Perform reconciliation of geological models with actual mine development
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (total stations, theodolites, laser scanners)
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory survey standards for underground mining
