Job summary

Placements24 seeks a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor for an underground mining project near Port Elizabeth. You will establish mine layouts, control points, and development alignments using Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanners, while monitoring volumes and ensuring accuracy for planning and production.

The role requires a Mine Surveying or Geomatics degree and at least 4 years of underground experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Vulcan, and Surpac.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mine Surveying or Geomatics required.
• Minimum 4 years of underground surveying experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vulcan, Surpac and field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise underground surveying for mine layouts and control points.
• Monitor excavation progress and volumes of ore and waste; ensure accuracy.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and contour maps of underground workings.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and supervisors for planning data.
• Maintain survey equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
