Placements24 seeks an experienced Mine Surveyor for underground operations in Vereeniging. You will map underground workings, set out development, and control excavation volumes using advanced surveying tools.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics and at least 5 years in underground surveying. Proficiency with total stations, GPS, laser scanners, Surpac and Deswik is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with significant underground experience.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and software (Surpac, Deswik).
• Strong understanding of mining surveying principles and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in challenging underground conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate underground surveys, establishing control points, traverse, and setting out work.
• Produce detailed mine plans, sections, and contour maps using surveying software.
• Monitor and report on progress of underground development and production against plans.
• Perform volume calculations for ore and waste material.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of surveying equipment and instruments.
