Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join the operational team in Tembisa. You will ensure accurate measurement, layout and control of mining activities, maintaining survey networks and providing spatial data to planning and engineering.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a Mine Surveying qualification, and proficiency with Surpac/AutoCAD/Deswik plus survey instruments in a demanding production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mine Surveying.
• At least 5 years of Mine Surveyor experience, preferably underground.
• Proficiency with Surpac, AutoCAD or Deswik and survey instruments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys, establishing survey control points.
• Perform volumetric calculations for ore and waste for production reporting and reconciliation.
• Prepare survey plans, sections, and cross-sections for mine planning and operational guidance.
• Monitor and report on mine development progress, including excavation, support, and dewatering activities.
• Operate and maintain survey instruments, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations related to survey operations and mine workings.
