Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a precise Mine Surveyor for an underground role near Paarl. You will map underground workings, control drilling and excavation, and ensure alignment with mine plans using advanced surveying tools.

Your work supports safe and efficient underground operations in the Western Cape. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics and at least 4 years of underground surveying experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD/Deswik and total stations, GPS, and laser

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in mine surveying or geomatics.
Minimum of 4 years of underground mine surveying experience.
Proficiency with mining surveying software and hardware.
Strong understanding of mine planning principles and survey control networks.
Ability to work in a demanding underground mining environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct underground surveys to establish control points, map development, and record excavations.
Utilize surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
Process and plot survey data using specialized mining software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik).
Monitor and control underground development and production areas according to mine plans.
Prepare survey reports and provide essential spatial data to engineers and geologists.
