Job summary

Ultra Pharmaceutical And Medical Placements is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Western Cape, focusing on AIS medical devices. The role involves installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and on-site support to ensure patient safety and equipment reliability.

Requirements include a National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years in medical equipment. Travel across SA/SADC will be required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical equipment or biomedical industry.
• Experience with infusion therapy equipment or dialysis equipment advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of electronic equipment and technical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings.
• Registration with CEASA advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, disinfect, test and evaluate AIS medical equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, software installations and electrical safety testing.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions for reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections and repairs.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly service reports of repairs, maintenance, commissioning and installations.
• Coordinate service activities and travel across SA and SADC as required.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and company standards.
• Assist with additional duties as required by management.
