Job summary

Chevrah Kadisha seeks a Group Intake Consultant (Social Worker, Psychologist or Registered Counsellor) to be the first point of contact for community members seeking assistance. You will assess psychosocial and financial needs and guide clients to appropriate services, while upholding confidentiality and POPIA requirements.

Responsibilities include crisis containment, conducting interviews, documenting assessments, coordinating referrals, and maintaining accurate client records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling.
• Registration with SACSSP or HPCSA.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in psychosocial assessments.
• Experience conducting psychosocial, financial and home-based care needs assessments.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma containment and safeguarding practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional containment for clients.
• Explain services, admissions processes and required documentation.
• Facilitate admissions and access to services.
• Capture and maintain electronic client records and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers.
• Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate assessments and referrals.
• Attend meetings and perform duties as required.
