Job summary

Implats in South Africa is seeking a Training and Development specialist to conduct training initiatives that meet safety, legal, and business needs. The role focuses on outcomes-based training, quality management, and learning delivery in a mining context.

You will build learning plans, design interventions, and assess learners while maintaining records and reporting. Essential are Grade 12/NQF 4, ETD Train the Trainer, and assessor/moderator credentials.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF equivalent 4 is essential.
• ETD certificate (NQF Level 3 -Train the Trainer) is essential.
• Registered Assessor and Moderator Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting an analysis to determine outcomes of learning for skills development and other purposes.
• Promotes a learning culture.
• Frames and implements individual action plans to improve productivity within an organisational unit.
• Assists with the design and development of training interventions.
• Plans and schedules training interventions.
• Conducts targeted training and development using given methodologies.
• Performs one-to-one training on the job.
• Coaches team members in order to enhance individual performance.
• Develops learning plans and portfolios for assessment.
• Conducts outcomes-based assessments.
• Maintains the training Quality Management and Learning Delivery Systems.
• Maintains and updates training record keeping systems.
• Compiles Training/Assessment/Moderation/Evaluation Reports.

Job description

To conduct training initiatives in order to satisfy business needs and tomeet safety and legal requirements.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act, regulations and definitions
• Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace
• Demonstrate understanding of the outcomes-based education and training approach within the context of a National Qualifications Framework

• Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2000)
• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of a Training Needs Analysis
