Placements24 is seeking a reliable Tour Guide Coordinator to join our growing tourism operation in Soweto, Gauteng. On-site role requiring strong organizational and people skills to keep daily tours running smoothly.

You will coordinate a team of freelance and employed guides, manage bookings and schedules, confirm tour details, and ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements. Customer inquiries and on-site logistics are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in coordination, scheduling, or operations, preferably in tourism or hospitality.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Interest and knowledge of South African history and culture.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and standard office tools.
• Based in or willing to travel to Soweto, Gauteng.
• Legal eligibility to work in South Africa.

About the Role Our client, a vibrant and growing tourism operator specializing in cultural and historical tours of Johannesburg and its surrounds, is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Tour Guide Coordinator . This role is based on-site in Soweto, Gauteng , and is crucial for the seamless operation of daily tours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for South African history and culture, excellent communication skills, and a knack for logistics and scheduling. You will be responsible for liaising with tour guides, managing booking schedules, ensuring all logistical requirements for tours are met, and acting as a point of contact for customers. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tour schedules for a team of freelance and employed tour guides.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a coordination, scheduling, or operational role, preferably within the tourism or hospitality sector.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
• A genuine interest in and knowledge of South African history, culture, and tourism.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, as required by tour schedules.
• A relevant qualification in Tourism Management or a related field is advantageous.
• Based in or willing to travel to Soweto, Gauteng for the role.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
