Placements24 is seeking a Telecom Network Deployment Specialist to join their field operations in Sandton, Gauteng. The role combines on-site deployments with remote coordination and administrative tasks to expand network reach.

The ideal candidate has hands-on deployment experience and strong organizational and communication skills. The position involves coordinating with engineers, planners, and vendors to ensure timely, safe, and compliant installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in telecom network deployment or field operations.
• Experience managing deployment projects in mobile or fixed telecom sectors.
• Familiarity with telecom components (antennas, radios, power systems, fiber).
• Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee physical deployment of telecom equipment (base stations, routers, fiber).
• Coordinate with internal and external teams for site readiness and installation.
• Ensure deployments meet design specs, quality standards, and safety rules.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
• Conduct site surveys to confirm suitability for equipment installation.
• Manage logistics of equipment delivery, warehousing, and deployment.
• Oversee commissioning and testing of new network elements.
• Maintain project documentation and as-built drawings.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and report status to management.
