Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Network Deployment Manager for a fully remote role, overseeing major nationwide network rollout initiatives in South Africa. You will plan, execute, and close complex fibre and wireless deployments, coordinating remote teams and vendors to meet time, budget, and quality targets.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in telecom deployment, strong leadership, stakeholder management, and expertise in MS Project/Jira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications network deployment and project management.
• Proven success in managing large-scale fibre optic and/or wireless network rollouts.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, deployment methodologies, and technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage remote teams effectively.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Jira).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across different organizations.
• PMP or Prince2 certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end deployment lifecycle for telecommunications network projects, from planning to handover.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Manage project teams, including field engineers, technicians, and contractors, remotely.
• Oversee site acquisition, civil works, equipment installation, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and permitting requirements.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project status, updates, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance to ensure timely delivery of services and equipment.
• Optimize deployment processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
• Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.
