Job summary

60 Degrees, a growing Insurtech software business, seeks a Technical Writer to transform complex information into clear, user-friendly documentation. You will collaborate with Product, Development, Training, Sales and Marketing to ensure accurate product information and support materials.

You will create, maintain and improve documentation across the product ecosystem, produce diagrams, workflows, and ensure consistency with documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role within a software development environment.
• Proven experience creating technical documentation for software products.
• Ability to provide a portfolio showcasing Technical Writing work.
• Experience reviewing, editing, and enhancing existing technical documentation.
• Experience using documentation platforms such as Confluence, Notion, or similar.
• Experience using diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written communication, editing, and research skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to different audiences.
• Experience creating documentation that incorporates text, diagrams, workflows, and visual elements.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• R600 000 to R660 000 per annum, inclusive of pension fund and group life cover.
