Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Johannesburg is seeking an IT Support Specialist to assist in managing IT infrastructure, servers, switches, routers and security to keep operations running smoothly.

You will apply patches to endpoints and servers, manage backups, enforce access controls, administer Active Directory, and run the helpdesk with after-hours support. Travel nationally and across borders (Namibia) may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in IT or CS, or a professional certification.
• Advanced Excel proficiency required.
• Experience with PowerBI and QlikSense an advantage.
• At least 3 years in a technical support role.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing IT infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, etc.) and IT systems to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Assist with updating end-user machines and servers with patches and antivirus software.
• Assist with managing backups and verify backup integrity weekly/monthly.
• Maintain IT Access Control Plan to protect data at rest and in transit.
• Assist with maintenance of physical access controls and Active Directory.
• Help maintain the helpdesk for end-user computing support.
• After-hours support of ICT infrastructure and end users.
