Qualifications

• National Diploma or relevant Draughting/Engineering Design certification.
• Minimum 5 years as Structural Draughtsperson with steel structures.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit.
• Strong understanding of steel structures, connections and fabrication methods.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural steel fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and erection plans using CAD software.
• Create 3D models of steel structures based on engineering designs and specifications.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Draughtsperson with a focus on steel structures to join their team in Kimberley . This role involves translating structural designs into detailed technical drawings and models suitable for fabrication and construction. You will work closely with structural engineers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project requirements. The ideal candidate possesses excellent drafting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of steel fabrication processes and construction practices in the Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural steel fabrication drawings , assembly drawings, and erection plans using CAD software.
• Create 3D models of steel structures based on engineering designs and specifications.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and adhere to relevant industry standards and codes.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and project teams to clarify design intent and resolve drafting issues.
• Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and other documentation required for fabrication and procurement.
• Maintain drawing registers and manage revisions effectively.

Requirements

• National Diploma or relevant certification in Draughting or Engineering Design.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsperson, with significant experience in steel structures.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit) is essential.
