Placements24 is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our Kimberley team, focusing on the design of commercial and industrial buildings in the Northern Cape. The role requires strong expertise in materials, construction practices, and structural analysis to deliver safe, cost-effective designs.

The position offers a flexible hybrid work model to balance collaboration with project teams and field visits as needed.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or MEng in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng.) is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in building structures design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or Prokon.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Select appropriate materials (concrete, steel, timber) and structural systems for building projects.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that arise.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations and SANS codes.
• Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants.
