Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Information Security Architect to design and implement robust, scalable security architectures for large IT environments across South Africa. This fully remote role offers flexibility to work from anywhere within the country.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in information security, at least 5 in security architecture, and proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), IAM, DLP, and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 10+ years in information security with at least 5 years in security architecture.
• Experience designing security architectures for large-scale, cloud/hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise-wide information security architecture frameworks.
• Define security standards for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessments for new and existing systems.
• Mentor security and IT teams on architectural best practices.
• Ensure security architecture compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain security architecture documentation and diagrams.
