Placements24 seeks a Senior Information Security Engineer for a fully remote, South Africa–based team. You will design, deploy, and maintain security infrastructure to protect digital assets, lead incident response, and drive vulnerability management across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and other security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM systems.
• Monitor security alerts and events, perform incident analysis, and lead containment and eradication efforts.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and manage remediation activities.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices for the organization.
• Proactively identify and analyze potential security threats and risks.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is embedded in all systems and applications.
• Automate security processes and tasks where possible using scripting or other tools.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
