Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Information Security Architect to join a fully remote team supporting operations across South Africa. You will design, build, and maintain the organization’s security architecture, leading strategic security initiatives with autonomy from a home office.

The role requires 7+ years in information security, including 3+ years in security architecture, with strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and advanced certifications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced security certifications strongly preferred.
• Over 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a dedicated security architecture role.
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions in hybrid and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in network security, application security, data protection, IAM, and threat intelligence.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, compliance regulations, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise security architectures across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain security blueprints, standards, and guidelines for the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address emerging threats and business needs.
• Lead threat modeling exercises and security design reviews for new projects and systems.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to integrate security into the entire system development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for security architecture and standards.
