Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to lead IFRS reporting, month-end close, and statutory compliance from a remote setup in South Africa. The role demands strong technical accounting expertise and leadership to drive accurate financial statements and process improvements.

You will mentor junior staff, partner with senior management, and ensure strict regulatory adherence while delivering strategic insights.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CA(SA) or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and reporting.
Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and South African tax legislation.
Proven experience with large-scale ERP systems and advanced analytical tools.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS.
Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
Develop and implement accounting policies to enhance efficiency and controls.
Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decisions.
Mentor junior accounting staff and foster a high-performance team.
