Placements24 is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote role based in Cape Town. You will manage IFRS financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls while supporting distributed teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting with CA(SA)/ACCA preferred and 5–7 years of accounting experience, including financial reporting, with strong Excel and accounting software proficiency. This position offers autonomy and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CA(SA)/ACCA preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory requirements; proficient with accounting software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review IFRS-compliant monthly and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month-end close and ensure deadlines are met.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Analyze financial data to provide management with actionable insights.
