Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Financial Controller to lead financial operations in a hybrid role based in Sandton, Gauteng. You will oversee financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering with senior leadership to drive strategic growth.

The ideal candidate has extensive IFRS experience, strong budgeting/forecasting skills, and a proven leadership track record in a telecom/tech-adjacent sector.

Qualifications

• CA(SA), CIMA or ACCA mandatory.
• 8–10 years of progressive financial management experience, including 4+ years in a controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Extensive IFRS reporting, internal controls, and audit management experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the accounting department, including financial reporting, AP/AR, and GL.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and advise senior management.
• Manage cash flow, treasury ops, and banking relationships.
