Placements24 seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to oversee complex financial operations in Cape Town. You will ensure IFRS compliance, prepare accurate statements, and support budgeting and audits in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in financial accounting, strong IFRS knowledge, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks plus advanced Excel. This role offers growth opportunities and a balanced work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA is desirable.
• 5–7 years of progressive financial accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel.
• Solid IFRS knowledge and South African regulatory understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including payroll, GL, AP and AR.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.
• Lead annual audit process with external auditors.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting with insightful projections.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory requirements.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and drive development.
