Job summary

North West Construction Company is seeking a detail-oriented Business Development Officer to join its team in the North West region. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and shaping strategic business plans for mining and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities include market research, client management, and developing sales proposals while monitoring pricing and competitor activity.

Qualifications

Education: A National Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
3 to 5 years working as Foreman in a mining processing Plant.
3 to 5 years of external sales and/or Business Development Officer experience in an E&I construction, projects, and maintenance services to the mining, industrial, and infrastructure/commercial sectors in SA.
Industry knowledge: LV/MV switchgear, transformers, automation hardware and process instrumentation (SCADA, sensors, control panels).
Strong negotiation and CRM proficiency; exceptional commercial acumen.
Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis: identify opportunities, analyze competitor strategies, evaluate market trends.
Client Relationship Management: develop and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and partners.
Business Strategy Development: create and implement actionable business plans, including marketing strategies, sales proposals, and presentations.
Monitor market pricing and competitor activity.
