Job summary

Placements24 in Durban seeks a strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth in the South African financial services sector. You will identify opportunities, build partnerships, and close deals with banks, insurers, and asset managers.

You will collaborate with product, marketing, and technical teams, travel regionally, and report on forecasts while shaping our clients’ adoption of cutting-edge fintech solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business development or strategic sales in financial services or fintech.
• Proven track record of identifying, developing, and closing new deals.
• Deep understanding of the financial services market in South Africa, esp. KwaZulu-Natal.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives.
• Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
• Willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within financial services, banks, insurers, and investment firms.
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans for KwaZulu-Natal.
• Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Present and demonstrate the value proposition of the solutions.
• Negotiate and close complex sales agreements and partnerships.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and technical teams for client onboarding and support.
• Represent the company at industry events and networking functions in Durban.
• Manage sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and maintain CRM records.
