The Staff Connection seeks an FMCG Store Manager in Johannesburg to own daily store operations, lead from the floor, and drive turnover across all departments.

You will manage staff, stock, shrinkage, and customer experience, ensuring high energy, urgency, and accountability on the shop floor. Matric and a retail management qualification are advantageous.

FMCG Store Manager

A great retail store doesn't run itself - it needs a strong operator on the floor, setting the pace, driving standards, managing people, and ensuring every department performs at its best.
We are looking for an experienced FMCG Store Manager to take full ownership of a busy retail operation. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, highly organised, commercially aware, and confident leading from the front in a fast-paced environment.
You will be the keyholder and face of the store, responsible for daily operations, staff performance, customer experience, and overall store success.

The Role

You will take full ownership of the daily operation of a busy FMCG retail store, ensuring every department performs efficiently while delivering exceptional service standards and strong commercial results.
This is a floor-presence role where visibility, leadership, urgency, and accountability are essential.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years' Store Management experience within FMCG / grocery retail
• Experience within major retail grocery environments
• Strong operational and floor management ability
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams
• Excellent stock control and commercial understanding
• Hands-on leadership style with strong accountability
• Matric essential
• Retail Management qualification advantageous
• Valid driver's licence and own transport essential
