Job description
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For

County Fair, a Division of Astral Operations Limited has the opportunity for a Store Controller based at the Primary Processing Plant in Fistantekraal, in the Western Cape.

  • Trend reporting, analysis thereof and corrective actions;
  • Report back on daily, weekly and monthly basis to the Processing Operations Manager on all operational related activities;
  • Managing the integrity of stock through ensuring that all stock movements have the required paperwork;
  • Root cause analysis for non-conformance reports;
  • Audit preparation;
  • Supervise handling returned products overseeing the credit process to ensure proper documentation and resolution;
  • Ensure proper stock rotation based on expiry dates, minimizing waste;
  • Lead, manage, and develop the staff involved in stock management, providing training, guidance, and maintaining discipline;
  • Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports to track stock control efficiency and accuracy;
  • Monitor and control budget and expenses related to stock control and the stock control team, ensuring financial reconciliation;
  • Implement and actively participate in the "20 Keys" workplace continuous improvement system;
  • Perform regular weekly and monthly stock takes, reconciling inventory for the cold room facility as well as external storage locations;
  • Manage housekeeping activities and coordinate necessary repairs for racking and storage equipment.
The Requirements For The Position Are
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • A tertiary qualification will be an advantage (Food Technology/ Food Science);
  • Sound knowledge of FSSC 22000, GMP requirements and relevant guidelines and Quality Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of statistical process control;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FMCG stock control, logistics, warehouse, cold storage, stock control and administration;
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook & MS PowerPoint);
  • INFOR LN system, or any other ERP system;
  • Experience using the MyChep pallet and lug management system (advantageous);
  • Fluent in English and an additional second language;
  • Must have the ability to manage high stock levels;
  • Valid forklift license will be an advantage;
  • Must be proactive and be able to work accurately and independently.
