Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead major commercial and retail projects in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will oversee planning, procurement, and delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget completion with strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, risk, and subcontractors, while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relations in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience in construction, focused on commercial properties.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.
• Knowledge of construction methods, codes, and contract administration.
• Proficient in MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience in Stellenbosch/Western Cape region is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and final completion of construction projects.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Manage and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
• Review and approve project-related documentation, including drawings, permits, and progress reports.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Implement and enforce robust risk management strategies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Manage project variations, claims, and contractual issues.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all project teams.
