Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Soweto, Gauteng to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure. You will automate deployments, enhance performance, and ensure security and availability of our platforms.

You will work with AWS/Azure/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments in a dynamic team environment. Join a cutting-edge tech firm focused on cloud-native solutions and modern development practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years in a DevOps/SRE role with cloud focus.
Proven experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes and security best practices.
Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build/test/deploy.
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Monitor performance, availability, and security; implement proactive measures.
Automate tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
Collaborate with development and QA for smooth releases.
Implement and manage Docker/Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Adhere to security best practices and controls; participate in on-call.
Contribute to incident response and resolution.
