Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a leading fintech company in Midrand. You will design, implement and manage automated CI/CD pipelines, provision infrastructure as code, and ensure robust production environments.

The role requires strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting in Bash, Python or PowerShell. It offers a hybrid work model, a dynamic tech-focused team, and clear paths for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or related role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement and manage Docker and Kubernetes containerization.
• Automate system administration tasks and monitor health/performance.
• Collaborate with development teams for seamless deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infra and release issues.
• Enforce security best practices across infra and deployments.
• Contribute to architectural decisions on infra and deployment strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps practices.
