Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef for a prestigious wine farm in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation, and ensuring the smooth running of a high-end kitchen.

You will lead a kitchen team, manage stock and costs, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to menu development and seasonal specials in a demanding hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, restaurant or wine estate environment is advantageous.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of modern food trends.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Good understanding of kitchen cost control, stock management and food safety.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for food, creativity and attention to detail.
• Hands-on professional attitude.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Head Chef with the daily management of kitchen operations.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistent quality.
• Supervise; motivate and support the kitchen team.
• Ensure menus and dishes are prepared to the required standards.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering and kitchen inventory.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal specials.
• Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Ensure efficient service delivery during busy periods.
• Minimise food wastage and maintain effective cost control.
